Chain Sawing
Concrete Chain Sawing that is powered by gas, hydraulics, air, and electric is a very easy way to cut very small openings and release corners where a circular blade can not with out cutting into something else. It allows making cuts without the over cut that you need when using a circular blade. Concrete Chain Sawing is an option that can be very expensive. Water is used to keep dust and the chain cool when cutting concrete and other material.
Cutting concrete requires the cutting area to be clear of all obstructions to allow the operator to do his job properly and efficiently. If the opening will be cut from the exterior into the interior with the chainsaw then the same rules apply as stated in the wall saw section. If all the cutting will be done from the interior most likely water control will be needed and the area needs to be cleared back at least 4-6 feet from the cutting area to allow space for water control to be done.
Requirements for chain sawing concrete walls and floors:
- Layout must be done by home owner or general contractor. All cuts should be marked before Cape Cod Concrete Cutting, Inc. arrives on site.
This application requires special attention. - Either a hand saw or a chainsaw can be used when other saws can not reach areas needed to be cut. Any Confined Space will need to be looked at before a quote will be given.
- The chainsaw is used for small square openings in walls, and to cut corners of larger openings when overcutting is not permitted.
- The Hand Saw is used to cut small openings in concrete floors in tight areas for sump pumps, pipe, or for new concrete footings in your basement. It is less powerful and can only cut 4-5″ inches in depth.
- Cutting Concrete with ether of these saws requires the cutting area must be clear of all obstructions to allow the operator to do his job properly and efficiently.
- Both saws require a very well trained operator to have you job completed efficiently and properly. This is all free hand concrete cutting and if not done right can make a rather easy job very difficult.
- Water is an issue, so please let us know if water control and plastic tarps will be necessary at your residence or commercial project.
If water and power is not present we can provide it. - These are typical requirements and may not pertain to every job.
